A day spent volunteering with the kids in our public schools creating art. We had a great time and the children were so eager to express their creativity! It is unfortunate that our county and state undervalue the importance of art in the public school system. It’s great that there are organizations like Art Reach who provide art programs that bring artists to public schools at no expense to the school. The lesson created for 4th and 5th grade student was wax resists on paper using crayons and oil pastels and then a watercolor wash. Please support art in public schools wherever you are located!
