A Golden Week

I spent last week, October 20th through October 26th participating in the “Golden Artist Educator Program”, with Golden Artist Colors, in New Orleans. As many of you may already know I love Golden paints and use them in all my classes and workshops so this was a natural fit. The GAEP’s purpose is to give art teachers, such as myself, the information and the tools to help us educate our students about the versatility of the Golden Acrylics and all the other amazing stuff Golden makes. I can happily say that it is official – I am a certified Golden Artist Educator! A big thank you to Artist and Director of the Working Artist Program Patti Brady and a tremendous thank you as well to Pat Pirrone who coordinated everything!

I now have a more in-depth knowledge of Golden products, and will be able to help my students find the best ones for their purposes and use the right materials to fulfill their artistic desires. Also, there is an immense amount of resources available on Golden’s website. Check out their video library, the YouTube channel, back issues of Just Paint, and Mix More Media, which provides an abundant amount of information on combining painting with digital printing, plus Mark Golden’s blog, is full of useful information.

high flow

Lastly, thank you to all the fellow artists who participated in the program who were so welcoming, it was a pleasure to meet new artists and form new friendships.

    Hi Kevin,
It was great meeting you at the workshop. This is a really great description and overview of the workshop. Glad that you were able to use my photo of you and Mary working on your color wheels!
