Golden Artist Colors, Inc., is a wonderful resource for any artist. I am proud to be a member of Golden’s Certified Working Artist Program. Golden has a superior line of paints and related products so I hope you’ll visit their website, they have several great video tutorials on the website as well.

Workshops are a great way to learn about new techniques, connect with other artists, and find out about new materials and products. My “local” teaching territory is Southern California, LA south to the border and Nevada – I’m in San Diego, this includes Palm Desert and Palm Springs. But I also travel and have taught in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Tennessee so just because you’re not in So Cal doesn’t mean we can’t set-up a class or workshop. I can give lectures, demonstrations and workshops for schools, colleges’, art guilds, art associations and art centers, and a wide variety of art organizations including art retail outlets to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for acrylics and Golden products.

There are so many possibilities for workshops that I thought you might like to know about a few I have taught in the past. All of my workshops have some kind of acrylic product application because of my affiliation with Golden Artist Colors. There are basic classes such as Introduction to Acrylics or Color Mixing for those who have little or no experience with Acrylics. There are also classes on creating texture with a variety of gels and pastes. If you’re interested in Encaustic but don’t have the equipment or proper ventilation then I have a class for you “Acrylic Encaustic.” If you are interested in Mixed Media I have a full range of classes from Basic to Advanced that cover everything you could possibly want to know. I can help you select products, learn techniques, and explore the all the possibilities. In addition, I teach classes on bookmaking and incorporating painting, printmaking and handmade paper into bookmaking. Also there are classes designed around image transfer and digital printing on acrylic and gel skins, which can be incorporated into both bookmaking, collage and painting. There are just so many different techniques and possibilities – you just need to jump in, sign up for a class and get started creating.

PROFESSIONAL LECTURE/ DEMO OPPORTUNITIES: As a member of the Working Artist Program for Golden Artist Colors Inc., I present educational lectures and demonstrations on the history and development of Acrylic Paints. During the lecture I cover material about acrylic paint and pigments, product usage, and all the various product lines available from Golden. If you live in Southern California or Nevada be sure to inquire about this program for your organization.
